This collection was inspired by the documentary A Plastic Ocean and my own experiences beach combing in Bermuda, where I’ve witnessed the growing tide of marine plastic pollution. After collecting plastic debris from local beaches, I didn’t want to simply throw it away—not knowing where it might end up. Instead, I chose to repurpose it into lasting artworks that carry a message.
Each piece is a collage of marine animals made from the very plastics that threaten their survival. I love that at first glance, people see something vibrant and beautiful—but a closer look reveals the fragments of bottle caps, rope, and everyday objects, prompting deeper reflection on the impacts of plastic pollution on ocean life.
By turning waste into art, this collection aims to spark conversation and inspire change.
